How to mold in a hoodscoop without it cracking?

ive molded my hood scoop into my hood using Bondo and it looked really nice for about 2 weeks and then it started to crack at the point where the Bondo met the scoop. how can i mold it so that there wont be any cracks? use fiberglass? dyna-weld? if those are options i'll need instructions on how to use them…

If you are putting a fiberglass scoop on a metal hood, fiberglass will work better, but panel bonding adhesive will work best.

Grind off the paint from the hood where the scoop will make contact with a 36 grit disk. Be careful not to warp the hood from the heat of grinding. Do the same to the scoop edges where it will contact the hood. The 3M panel bonding adhesive is a two part mix and requires a special applicator gun. if you know of a body shop that has one, see if they will let you use it on the premises or someone to work it for you. Just bring your own tube. Apply it to the hood and spread it over the grinder marks. same with the scoop. Apply a bead around the scoop edges and set in place. Tape it down and let it set for 24 hours. clean as much of the residue off the scoop and hood as possible then finish molding with filler.

This will be a permanent bond and won't crack. BUT, you may get a ghost line where the scoop meets the hood because of expansion rates between the fiberglass scoop, the metal hood, and the material of the glue. But it will never crack.
