What is the origin of the "dead scuba diver found in a charred tree" urban legend?

I remember watching an episode of CSI that played with this urban legend. after a forest fire, a scuba diver is found in a charred tree. His skin was melted, but he didn't die from the fire…he died from a fall, it got me wondering . is there any truth to that urban legend? what are the origins of it? how did it come about, and why is it still told?

Don't think it's true but seems feasible. the legend states that a plane sucked up some water from a lake into it's water tank and sucked up a scuba diver with it. the scuba diver drowned inside the tank and when the plane released the water into the fire, the scuba diver went with it.
